Robot Day, taking place on 6 July 2019 at Derby QUAD, is a celebration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths)
that explores all things robotic. It is aimed at everyone from toddlers to academics.

 

There are many workshops, technical talks, events, presentations and exhibitions throughout the day designed to inspire and educate all ages.
There will be family crafts, a range of static and moving exhibits and inspirational talks from world leaders in the field of robotics.

 

The IET are hosting a series of talks at Robot Day, which are being run independently. Please follow the links below to book your place.

 

Robot Triathlon

 

Robot Day also incorporates the annual IET Robot Triathlon competition.

In this lecture Fadl Isa will discuss the five-year inter-disciplinary “Brains on Board” research project. The honeybee has remarkable navigational abilities given its brain architecture and is the focus of the research project.

In recent years, there has been a lot of talk about the effects of robots replacing human workers and subsequently jobs. Dr Atif Syed from Wootzano Ltd. will demystify the problem, discuss the issues and address common assumptions that many people make.
